The Domus of Gladiators, the building in which the athletes trained in ancient Pompeii, part of the archaeological site in southern Italy, has collapsed, as reported by Italian media. The building, located on the streets of Plenty, one of the main streets of the city, has been closed to the public to carry out relevant research and analysis, while for tourists has provided a way alternate visits.
In comments reported by the online edition of the newspaper "Corriere della Sera, excavations guards explained that the collapse took place in the early hours of this morning. "First has given Wall Domus, and then due to the weight of the roof, which is concrete, has collapsed the entire complex," the watchers, who attributed the damage to water leakage.
Pompeii became a legend after the life of the city was buried on 24 August 79 AD because of the eruption of Vesuvius, which allowed, however, preserve almost intact to the Age contemporary.
